Urgent Appeal听for Entrepreneurship Program Mentor Volunteers
We are looking for expressions of interest for volunteers听from the business community听to be involved in our Year 9 Entrepreneurship Program. Our current priority is to ensure that each of our Year 9 teams has听a business mentor.听
The Carmel Entrepreneur Program is unique in Australia. It incorporates the听听program called 鈥楳xINC鈥 and brings the practical learning to the classroom where students are required to exercise soft skills, such as public speaking, interviewing, networking, and leadership, as they interact with the business world.听听
All Year 9 students start with听two听weeks of basic studies in economics to familiarise themselves with how the Australian economy works and provide context as they build their enterprises. The entrepreneurial section of the program will be run for 8 weeks and split into 6 main phases, which are as follows:听
- Discover a problem, need or听want听
- Design a听solution听
- Pitch a business听idea听
- Create the听solution听
- Sell the听solution听
This program not only simulates the real world but embeds the classroom within the wider community. It does this in several ways including, but not limited to, opportunities to hear from some of the world鈥檚 best entrepreneurs from a range of backgrounds and industries as well as the opportunity to visit some of Western Australia鈥檚 best innovation hubs.听
Please email Lisa Rosenberg听if you are interested -听or know someone who is interested -听in being involved in this amazing initiative.
