What a wonderful time for ¼«Æ··´²îæ», the Perth Jewish Community and for Israel. Rosh Hoshana has not only brought a new year, it has also brought with it new beginnings, optimism and hope!

Within ¼«Æ··´²îæ» our next generation of Kindy Kids began their journey with the ‘Kindergarten Peek and Picnic’ whilst our eldest students in Year 12 completed their Valedictory Celebrations and for many, set their sights on the WACE exams. The magic happens in between and for this addition, I draw particular focus to the Year 10 and 11 students who will soon be immersed in their Shorashim adventure.

The Perth Jewish Community has welcomed me with such enthusiasm and joy; I will be forever grateful for this ‘homecoming’. I take this opportunity to thank you for the Shabbat invites, the personal visits and the wisdom that you have shared with me. I was particularly encouraged by the contribution and connection of community representatives at the J-Hub Launchpad event. I hope to see everyone at the upcoming ‘One School, One Community, One Shabbat’ event on Friday 7 November, as we come together as ONE.

Our connection with Israel is again strengthened with the arrival of the new Tzevet. We welcome them into our school, our homes and our community. This year is particularly special, as in their first week, they shared the significant moment of the hostages being released, repatriation of the remains and cessation of the war. Whilst our dancing and celebration recognised a renewed optimism for better times ahead, we respect that there is still work to be done.

Onwards and upwards,

Mr Chris Hall

Principal
